RWC training and a bit of swimming!

Rescue water craft training is almost done. Its been great fun and I think its safe to say we all have learnt huge amounts.

Tomorrow is the “fairway bouy swim”. This is a very long swim race that starts from the beach in Exmouth. Exmouth volunteer lifeguards will be looking after the swimmers along with the RNLI Inshore Lifeboat. We will be on the beach should our help be needed. Good luck to all those taking part!

Rain Rain Rain

It rained most of the day on the beach today.

Around 15.30 things cleared up and the kite surfers arived. By the end of the day 4 kite surfers had been assisted by our RWC aka a jetski due to equipment problems and the eastily wind!

Busy times

Its been a busy first week in Exmouth. A couple of kite surfers helped, few minor firstaids, and the odd swimmer in the river channel.

Still no luck with uploading photos from my mobile to the blog. My next day off may not be for a week or so but will try to get it working again then.

Day off

Hopefuly I will sort my flickr account tomorrow on my day off.

We are over half a week in to patroling at Exmouth and all seems to be going well.

2 days on the beach done

Still no mobile picture blogging I’m afraid.

We have had two good days on the beach one wetter than the another!

A shout to a kite surfer today from the coastguard who turned out to be in no trouble but first duty for the rescue water craft. (RWC or aka jet ski)

Will try to get picture blogging up on my days off this week.

Our first aid course at the college is going great, learning lots and enjoying it!

It starts!

Season has started!

We have had two days on the beach in Exmouth and now we are at the Lifeboat College in Poole for 3 days. Our hut is on the beach but my mobile won’t let me upload pics for somereason. I will try ho have this sorted by the weekend when we start patroling!

Convention

This weekend is the BCU Lifeguards Convention.

This year the convention is being run at our base Herts Young Mariners Base.  Many courses are being run for people to progress within Canoe Lifeguards.

I am going to be busy getting ready for my summer Lifeguard Season to Start so am no attending the convention, but I am sure I will recieve reports and pictures!

7 Days!

7 days until I start my pre main season training. I am not sure what the week will hold, no doubt it will be full on! 14 days until we start on the beach in Exmouth. Can’t wait!
